Scent of freedom,
As Bohemian Queen
Roaming the universe
Aurora as Guide,
Truth and love still
Hung ‘neath her touch
Ablazed by moon’s kiss.
But through who? Where?
All seems to have escaped.
Look inside to recapture all wonder
not lost. What never left, rests intact.
Simple curiosity and imagination,
feeling playtime within its new skin,
await as only equipment necessary
to rekindle love, laughter, thunder or
loosen hidden waterfalls enchanted.
Once again rising strong, personal truth
awakened to an original purpose.

#napowrimo #glopowrimo challenge Day 29 | #nevergiveup #poetrymonth #poem
Today marked the one-year anniversary since the passing of musical artist, Prince. I decided to create a poem inspired by one of his earlier songs, called Controversy. It has stayed with me since I first heard it as a rebellious thirteen-year-old.
I just can’t believe all the things people say
Am I black or white, am I straight or gay?
Do I believe in god, do I believe in me?
~Prince, from album, Controversy
When you feel your world is falling apart, lighten the dimness by changing your perspective; give yourself a new tune to dance life to today. You are worth it! ❤
